  2. Reroll phase:
    • Choose any dice to reroll
    • Roll them once (or twice, depending on house rules)
  3. Betting round:
    • First player can check (pass) or bet
    • Players can call (match), raise, or fold
    • Action continues around table until all bets matched or players fold
  4. Showdown:
    • Remaining players reveal hands
    • Best hand wins the pot

  • Fastest play

Rerolling Rules

  • After second reroll, hand is final

Strict variant allows:

  • Only 1 reroll per turn

Expert Player

Tips

  1. Pair minimum: A single pair has reasonable winning potential
  2. Straight probability: Difficult to roll; valuable if achieved
  3. Reroll strategy: Preserve three of a kind dice; reroll others for four of a kind
  4. Bluffing: Bet confidently with strong hands; bluff selectively with weak hands
  5. Reading opponents: Watch how other players bet and reroll choices
  6. Position matters: Last to act has information advantage
  7. Bankroll management: Don't bet too heavily; sustain through multiple hands
  8. Fold strategically: Know when to fold weak hands
  9. High card bluffing: Occasionally bluff with high card to create doubt

Variations

Simplified Poker Dice

  • Two rerolls allowed (instead of optional)
  • No betting; highest hand wins each round
  • Fastest variant

Single Reroll Variant

  • Only one reroll allowed per turn
  • More luck-dependent

Straight/Flush Variant

  • Add additional hand: "Flush" (all dice even or all odd)
  • Changes hand rankings

Betting Variant (Conservative)

  • All antes; then show hands; no mid-game betting
  • Reduces bluffing element

High-Low Variant

  • Best hand AND worst hand split the pot
  • Adds strategy layer

Tournament Variant

  • Multiple hands played
  • Lowest chip count after X hands is eliminated
  • Continue until one player remains

Some commercial Dice Poker games use special dice with face cards and aces:

  • These create poker hands more directly (e.g., K-K-Q-Q-J = two pair)
  • Scoring and hand rankings adjust accordingly
